Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bill Naler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paha Yhdistys (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bill Naler had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bill Naler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paha Yhdistys!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yhdistys fails to land the takedown.
Yhdistys fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Yhdistys tries for a takedown but Naler sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bill Naler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paha Yhdistys.

Naler closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Yhdistys to the mat! Yhdistys manages to get full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Naler clinches with his opponent.
Yhdistys changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Naler fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Naler shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Naler thows a huge punch but Yhdistys dodges it nicely.
Naler is keen to just control but Yhdistys is a slippery customer.

Naler decides to return to a standing position.
Good leg kick by Naler there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Naler throws a head kick that Yhdistys semi-blocks.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Yhdistys tries to buck Naler off but Naler is having none of it.

Yhdistys parries the strikes from Naler easily there. Naler is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Yhdistys to escape.
Naler cracks Yhdistys with a big elbow.
Naler in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Yhdistys makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Yhdistys.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Yhdistys is on top in guard.
Yhdistys loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Yhdistys wants to control from the top but Naler keeps moving.
Yhdistys has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Naler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yhdistys doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yhdistys manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Naler tries for a takedown but Yhdistys circles away easily

and Yhdistys counters with a nice double leg into side control. Naler won't be happy with that.

Yhdistys lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Naler down.

Yhdistys wants to control but Naler is keeping him busy.
Naler wants to control but Yhdistys postures up.
Naler takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Yhdistys tries for a kimura but Naler is defending well.
Yhdistys tries to advance to mount but can't.
You can see the frustration on Naler's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Naler keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bill Naler dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Yhdistys looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Naler is fending him off so far but Yhdistys persists. Nope, Naler circles away and we're back to standing.

Naler seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Yhdistys does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Naler throws a strike but Yhdistys rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Yhdistys postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Naler is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Yhdistys, into his guard.
Naler wants to stand but Yhdistys is controlling his posture from full guard.
Yhdistys lands with a heel strike from the guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Yhdistys manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Naler is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Naler is looking to improve his position but Yhdistys isn't that keen on the idea.

Yhdistys postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Naler looks a forlorn figure.

Naler can't escape the position.
Bill Naler overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Yhdistys fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Naler wants to control but Yhdistys is having none of it.
Yhdistys prevents Naler from getting the reversal.
Naler tries to buck Yhdistys off but he can't manage it.
Yhdistys scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Naler gets back to half guard.
Yhdistys takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Yhdistys uses his free foot to push down on Naler's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Naler.
Naler is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Yhdistys is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Naler is forced to tap! Great finish!
