Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Bombaya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter Sobchak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bombaya throws a series of punches but Sobchak moves out of range. Horrible takedown by Sobchak or perhaps it was just good defense by Bombaya which made him look bad. Sobchak fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bombaya, pushing him back against the cage. Sobchak is working Bombaya over against the cage. Sobchak drags the fight down to the ground.
Bombaya working some strikes from top position. Bombaya throws a big right hand that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bombaya distracts Sobchak with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Sobchak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bombaya connects with a couple of short punches. Sobchak throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Sobchak is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Bombaya thows a big elbow that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sobchak utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Sobchak has momentary wrist control but Bombaya slips an elbow through the middle. Sobchak bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bombaya's guard. Bombaya controls Sobchak momentarily but Sobchak frees himself. Sobchak looking to pass the guard. Sobchak throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bombaya works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bombaya on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bombaya tries to get out of the position. Bombaya wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Sobchak manages to pass to side control. Bombaya missing with punches from the bottom.
Sobchak stops Bombaya from getting back to his feet.
Bombaya trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bombaya strikes from the bottom but Sobchak passes into mount!
Bombaya tries to reverse the position but Sobchak maintains control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sobchak blocks Bombaya's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Sobchak takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Bombaya is squirming around, avoiding Sobchak's attempts to control the action. Sobchak looks gassed! Bombaya tries to buck Sobchak off but he can't manage it. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sobchak cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bombaya can't escape the position.
Bombaya is squirming around, avoiding Sobchak's attempts to control the action. Sobchak prevents Bombaya from getting the reversal. Bombaya's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Sobchak is working for a guillotine from mount but Bombaya frees his head quite easily.

Bombaya throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Sobchak punishing his opponent with strikes. Bombaya swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Bombaya is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Bombaya slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Bombaya misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Bombaya gets full guard. Bombaya is controlling Sobchak's posture. Bombaya is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sobchak is controlling him. Bombaya tries to strike from the bottom.
Bombaya wants to stand and escape but Sobchak is having none of it. Bombaya lands a decent shot there. Bombaya wants to get back to his feet but Sobchak is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Sobchak wants to control from the top but Bombaya keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Rocky Bombaya will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Sobchak shoots in looking for a takedown. Bombaya tries to sprawl out of it but Sobchak keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bombaya manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Sobchak tries to close the distance and clinch but Bombaya swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bombaya tries to bum rush Sobchak with a series of wild strikes but Sobchak uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Bombaya throws a nice looking combination but Sobchak bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Sobchak moves in looking to clinch but Bombaya pushes him off. A punch combination from Bombaya misses. Sobchak fails in his attempt to clinch. Sobchak dodges the punch combination from Bombaya.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bombaya scores with a takedown into Sobchak's guard. Sobchak is controlling Bombaya's posture. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sobchak looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Bombaya chips away with some ground and pound. Bombaya scoring with punches to the head and body. Sobchak is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Bombaya stands and steps away. Sobchak gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Bombaya swinging wilding here.
Sobchak gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Bombaya passes Sobchak's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Bombaya working over Sobchak with some ground and pound. Sobchak looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sobchak tries to roll over but Bombaya keeps him under control. Bombaya landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Sobchak regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Bombaya. Sobchak lands an upkick as Bombaya stands over him. Bombaya postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Sobchak has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bombaya can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Bombaya throwing strikes from guard but Sobchak blocks nicely.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bombaya shoots in and bounces Sobchak off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bombaya makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Rocky Bombaya overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bombaya is working Sobchak over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Bombaya stands up over Sobchak, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bombaya accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sobchak manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Bombaya shoots in but Sobchak avoids the takedown attempt easily. Sobchak misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bombaya closes the distance but Sobchak moves to the side and Sobchak counters with a head kick. That will keep Bombaya thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Bombaya lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bombaya.

Sobchak fails to land the takedown. Sobchak avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sobchak throws a jab but it's blocked by Bombaya. Rocky Bombaya is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bombaya will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Sobchak ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bombaya moves away. The fight moves into the clinch position. Bombaya is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sobchak pulls him back up using the underhooks. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocky Bombaya. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bombaya drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sobchak pulls his leg out and moves away.
Sobchak shoots in for a takedown and gets it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rocky Bombaya dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Sobchak rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bombaya moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Bombaya shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bombaya takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Sobchak tries for a takedown but Bombaya sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Bombaya swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sobchak decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bombaya's guard. Sobchak stops Bombaya from standing up. Bombaya thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Bombaya striking off his back but it's not causing Sobchak any problems. Bombaya is striking from the bottom but Sobchak uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Bombaya wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Sobchak stands up and beckons Bombaya to join him on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bombaya misses with a combination
and Sobchak counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bombaya won't be happy with that. Bombaya is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Bombaya is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sobchak off and has taken his back! Bombaya is landing with strikes from the back. Bombaya doesn't have the hooks in and Sobchak manages to turn into his guard.

Sobchak has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bombaya's face.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sobchak stands up from mount. Strange move. Bombaya falls off balance throwing a combination
and Sobchak counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bombaya's guard now. Bombaya is striking but Sobchak is not phased and passes to half guard. Bombaya punching from the bottom.
Bombaya is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ground and pound from Sobchak. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bombaya is trying to stand back up but Sobchak is controlling him
Sobchak decides to stand and escape the position. Walter Sobchak has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rocky Bombaya is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Rocky Bombaya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sobchak on the wrong end of a nice hook.
And that's the end of the fight! Walter Sobchak comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Bombaya has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
