Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Walter Rothko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Isaiah Ferguson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walter Rothko !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Isaiah Ferguson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferguson darts in looking for a takedown but Rothko gets double underhooks and turns Ferguson into the cage.

Ferguson looking to score a takedown here. Rothko is defending well but Ferguson drives through and ends up in Rothko 's guard.

Ferguson has gone for a leg lock! Rothko slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ferguson's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rothko is looking to advance position but Ferguson won't allow it.
Ferguson tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Rothko has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Ferguson is refusing to be controlled, as Rothko sits in half guard.
Ferguson regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Rothko .

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Rothko is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Rothko passes Ferguson's left leg - he's now in half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ferguson tries to roll over but Rothko keeps him under control.

Rothko prevents Ferguson from getting the reversal.

Rothko drives through with a takedown into Ferguson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Rothko throws a strike but Ferguson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Ferguson is looking for a kimura but Rothko is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ferguson to get the leverage.

Ferguson wants to work for an arm triangle but Rothko is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Rothko has one foot on Ferguson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Ferguson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rothko swivels and escapes.

and Rothko counters by clinching up.
Rothko will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Ferguson up against the cage.

Rothko breaks the clinch.
Ferguson tries for a takedown but Rothko sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Walter Rothko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Isaiah Ferguson.

Ferguson gets caught flat footed, as Rothko shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Rothko would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Walter Rothko dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Ferguson gets caught napping as Rothko dives in and scores a takedown. Ferguson manages to retain guard.

Rothko decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Ferguson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rothko walks away with a smile on his face. Ferguson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Rothko counters with a three punch combo that has Ferguson backing up. Ferguson nods at Rothko to acknowledge the strikes.
Walter Rothko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Isaiah Ferguson.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ferguson.

and Rothko holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Rothko manages to break the clinch.
Rothko leaves Ferguson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Ferguson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Rothko pulls guard successfully.

Ferguson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rothko is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ferguson, into his guard.

Isaiah Ferguson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ferguson.
Rothko half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Ferguson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rothko wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ferguson is working for a submission of some sort.
Rothko keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Rothko gets back to full guard.

Rothko had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ferguson defends it easily.

Ferguson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rothko manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ferguson has Rothko in his guard.

Rothko wants to stand but Ferguson is controlling his posture from full guard.
Rothko throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ferguson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ferguson looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Rothko passes into side control.
Rothko misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

And that's the end of the fight!
Walter Rothko showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Rothko has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
