Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between German Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, German Hughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mike Tyson!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes looks to throw a body kick

and Tyson counters with a takedown into side control.
Tyson is looking to take a break and control but Hughes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hughes throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Tyson staying calm.
Hughes tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tyson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hughes keeps working.
Hughes tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tyson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Hughes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Tyson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Tyson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hughes is looking to escape.

Tyson lands a nice shot to the head.
Hughes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Tyson blocks Hughes's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Tyson prevents Hughes from getting the reversal.

Tyson wants to finish this one by submission but Hughes is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Tyson.
Hughes is trying desperately to improve position.

Tyson tries to control but Hughes wriggling away.

Tyson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hughes can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Hughes is looking to improve his position but Tyson isn't that keen on the idea.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tyson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hughes is just riding it out for now. Tyson eventually gives up the hold.

Hughes wants to get back to full guard but Tyson has mounted him!

Hughes is controlling an arm, preventing Tyson from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Tyson with shots to the head and body - Hughes looks very uncomfortable down there.

Tyson manages to capitalize on a mistake by Hughes to take his back!
I really don't envy Hughes right now.
Tyson tries to keep control of the position but Hughes is staying busy.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hughes is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tyson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Tyson is looking for a triangle but Hughes pushes his legs off easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hughes's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Hughes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Tyson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hughes was covering up waiting for the punch and Tyson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Tyson wants to stand but Hughes is controlling his posture from full guard.
Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Tyson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Tyson is trying to trip Hughes. He has hold of a leg but Hughes is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Tyson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
