Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brenden Abbott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Myles O Donnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). O Donnell has chosen Anti by Mayhem as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
30 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brenden Abbott! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Myles O Donnell! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abbott is looking to score with low kicks. O Donnell fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Abbott looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Abbott scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Abbott pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces O Donnell back to the cage. Abbott follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Abbott looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Abbott is looking to slow O Donnell down with leg kicks. Abbott connects with the punch. Abbott lands with a hook. O Donnell tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Abbott scores with a nice head shot. O Donnell misses with an uppercut. Abbott saw that one coming. This has been an exciting period of action! O Donnell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
O Donnell slips a jab from Abbott. Abbott lands a nice shot that snaps O Donnell's head back.
A head kick misses from O Donnell. Abbott drops down looking for a counter takedown but O Donnell sprawls and moves away. O Donnell has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Abbott finds it's way round the side to connect with O Donnell's head. Nice cross by O Donnell. Abbott uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from O Donnell. Abbott throws a poor cross that misses
and O Donnell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Abbott fakes high and swings low for a body shot but O Donnell manages to avoid it. Abbott throws a wild body kick that O Donnell sees coming a mile off. Abbott throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Abbott uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by O Donnell.
O Donnell misses with a straight left. O Donnell throws a head kick that misses. Abbott looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Abbott keeps the fight on the outside. Abbott misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. O Donnell throws a right and a left that Abbott avoids nicely. O Donnell takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. O Donnell rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Abbott moves out of range and avoids them all easily. O Donnell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that O Donnell has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. O Donnell misses with a lunging right hand
letting Abbott counter with a right hand. Abbott steps to the side to avoid the strikes from O Donnell.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Some bone on bone action there as Abbott checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Abbott takes one on the chin but seems OK.
O Donnell looks to land a combination but Abbott avoids it well. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Abbott feints and then cracks O Donnell's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow O Donnell down. Myles O Donnell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Abbott throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. O Donnell uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Abbott has time to react.
It looks like Brenden Abbott has been cut. Abbott with a nice cross. Abbott throws a front kick aimed at O Donnell's knee but O Donnell avoids it well. Abbott clobbers O Donnell with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
O Donnell is rocked! O Donnell walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Abbott swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Brenden Abbott! Brenden Abbott retains his middleweight title! Brenden Abbott decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
