Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yuki Yamamoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jony Mann!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamamoto slaps away a takedown attempt from Mann, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Yamamoto is looking to counter the offense by Mann and move into the clinch.
An inside leg kick lands from Yamamoto.
Yamamoto misses with an attempted mid kick.
Mann fails with a takedown attempt.
Yamamoto lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Yamamoto slaps away a takedown attempt from Mann, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Yuki Yamamoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jony Mann.
Mann looks for a takedown but Yamamoto sprawls well.
Yamamoto lets loose with a powerful body kick. Mann will feel that in the morning.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mann shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Yamamoto sprawls well. Yamamoto wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mann gets slowly back to his feet.
A solid leg kick lands there for Yamamoto.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mann checks the leg kick nicely there.
Yamamoto connects with a high kick.
Mann moves away from the strike by Yamamoto.
Mann shoots for a takedown but Yamamoto saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mann shoots in and drives through. Yamamoto sprawls well.
Yamamoto moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Mann blocks a low kick nicely.
Yamamoto will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mann is defended easily by Yamamoto.
Yamamoto is looking to score with low kicks.
Yamamoto bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Yamamoto lands a big head kick that sends Mann tumbling to the mat! Yamamoto takes a step backwards and waves Mann back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Mann is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mann scores with a takedown into Yamamoto's guard.
Mann is still in real trouble! Can Yamamoto finish him?
Yamamoto wants to sweep here but Mann controlling him for the moment.
Yamamoto not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mann seems to have recovered his senses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yamamoto looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Mann stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yamamoto swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Yamamoto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mann can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Yamamoto definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Yamamoto had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mann defends it easily.
Mann with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Yamamoto is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mann in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mann wants to control from the top but Yamamoto keeps moving.
Mann is working Yamamoto over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Mann trying to control but Yamamoto is working from the bottom.
Yamamoto tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mann distracts Yamamoto with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Mann pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Yamamoto is keeping the position for now.
Mann stands and throws Yamamoto's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Mann in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Yamamoto looks to move to half guard but instead Mann has passed into mount! Damn!
Yamamoto tries to lock up and control but Mann gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mann with a couple of short strikes.
The referee warns Yamamoto that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Yamamoto takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.


Yamamoto is rocked!
Mann looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Yamamoto covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jony Mann!
