Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ghiorghos Papadopoulos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Staph Aureus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Papadopoulos comes to the cage accompanied by Bloodsport Soundtrack - Fight To Survive (Extended Version). Ghiorghos Papadopoulos has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

22 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Staph Aureus! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aureus closes the distance and clinches. Papadopoulos is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Aureus is defending well. Papadopoulos has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Aureus avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Papadopoulos is trying to drag Aureus to the mat but Aureus just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ghiorghos Papadopoulos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Knees to the body from Aureus.
Aureus unloads a knee to the mid-section. Aureus scores with a knee to the head.
Papadopoulos is trying to drag Aureus to the mat but Aureus just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Aureus lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Aureus lands an elbow just above Papadopoulos 's eye. Papadopoulos is trying to trip Aureus. He has hold of a leg but Aureus is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Papadopoulos persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Aureus had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Papadopoulos defends it easily. Papadopoulos working some strikes from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aureus avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Papadopoulos throwing strikes from guard but Aureus blocks nicely. Papadopoulos trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Aureus is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Papadopoulos accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Papadopoulos throws a big right hand that misses. Papadopoulos chips away with some ground and pound. Papadopoulos cracks Aureus with a solid left hand. Aureus looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Papadopoulos content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Aureus working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Papadopoulos. Papadopoulos throwing strikes but missing. Aureus looking for a sweep. Not yet Aureus, not yet. Papadopoulos stands up over Aureus, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
It looks like Staph Aureus has been cut. Papadopoulos scoring with some ground and pound. Papadopoulos missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Papadopoulos postures up in Aureus's guard and throws a big left but Aureus blocks it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Papadopoulos working some strikes from top position.
The cut above Staph Aureus's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Staph Aureus's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ghiorghos Papadopoulos! During a confident post fight interview, Ghiorghos Papadopoulos thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. The defeated Staph Aureus had this to say: 'You win some you lose some . I'll be back, dont worry about it !'.
