Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greek Gyros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kirk Lazarus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gyros comes to the cage accompanied by Greek Gyros. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 29 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greek Gyros! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kirk Lazarus! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gyros shoots for a double leg takedown but Lazarus sprawls well. He's pushed Gyros's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Gyros has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Main Event Gym in the buildup to the fight. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gyros is defended easily by Lazarus. Lazarus throws a nice outside leg kick. Gyros takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gyros. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Greek Gyros. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lazarus misses with a head kick.
Gyros changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Lazarus with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Lazarus throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lazarus is looking to slow Gyros down with leg kicks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lazarus looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. That kick from Lazarus tenderised Gyros's leg. Gyros is trying to keep his angry face on. Lazarus throws a head kick but Gyros moves out of range.
Lazarus leaves Gyros with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Lazarus fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gyros has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gyros shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lazarus as he avoids it easily. Lazarus scores with a decent looking hook. Lazarus has Gyros up against the cage in a clinch.
Lazarus can't find room to land a body shot as Gyros controls the action.
Lazarus using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Gyros has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Lazarus's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Lazarus unloads a knee to the mid-section. Gyros lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Gyros has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Lazarus effectively controlling the action here. Lazarus unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Lazarus tries to land knees in the clinch but Gyros avoids the damage to the body. Lazarus lands a nice knee to the body. Gyros is breathing heavily. Gyros changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lazarus fights it off and pushes away nicely.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Lazarus creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lazarus pressing his opponent against the cage. The referee calls for Lazarus to work.
Lazarus lands a good knee to the midsection. Gyros won't want to take too many of those. Lazarus connects with a knee to the head.
It looks like Greek Gyros has been cut.

Gyros tries to pull guard but Lazarus holds him up against the cage and eventually Gyros drops back down to his feet.
Gyros tries to score a body lock takedown but Lazarus shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Lazarus throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Gyros blocks it with crossed arms. Lazarus stalling.
Gyros tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lazarus smiles and moves away.
Kirk Lazarus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gyros shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lazarus defends it nicely. Lazarus scoring well with a low kick there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gyros gets tackled into the cage by Lazarus. Lazarus maintains the clinch. Lazarus throws a knee to the head but misses.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Lazarus lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Lazarus is pushing Gyros up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Come on Lazarus - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kirk Lazarus dominated that round. The cut man is working on Greek Gyros's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Gyros closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lazarus circles away. A nice inside leg kick there by Lazarus. That's going to slow Gyros down. Kirk Lazarus seems to be getting the better of the standup. Gyros shoots in looking for a takedown but Lazarus manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gyros's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Lazarus appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Gyros shoots in looking for a takedown. Lazarus tries to sprawl out of it but Gyros keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lazarus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Greek Gyros. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lazarus scores with a nice right hand.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Lazarus, right into the meat.
Greek Gyros is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That kick from Lazarus tenderised Gyros's leg. Gyros is trying to keep his angry face on. Lazarus turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Lazarus lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Lazarus throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Gyros stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lazarus. Lazarus looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Gyros's legs have taken a beating and he's really slowing down as a result. Gyros has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Lazarus. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lazarus dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Lazarus fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gyros. Lazarus connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lazarus.
Lazarus has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Lazarus lands with a thumping leg kick.
A head kick from Lazarus lands but Gyros takes it in his stride. Gyros throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Lazarus lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Lazarus connects with an inside leg kick. Lazarus stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lazarus wants it to stay on the feet. Gyros is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Lazarus closes the distance and clinches. Lazarus lands a good knee to the midsection. Gyros won't want to take too many of those. Lazarus utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Lazarus with a knee to the head.
Greek Gyros's cut is getting worse. Kirk Lazarus seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Lazarus is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Lazarus working the clinch nicely. Gyros is working for position but Lazarus cracks him with a big knee to the head! Gyros crumples up against the cage and Lazarus lands two more shots before the ref can save Gyros! This one is all over!
