Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kornel Koltun!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koltun bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Masaru takes a jab right on the kisser.
Koltun walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.


It looks like Kornel Koltun has been cut.
Masaru fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Masaru lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Masaru.
Masaru fails in his attempt to clinch.

Koltun moves into range and clinches up with Masaru.
Koltun stops a takedown attempt from Masaru.
Koltun lands with a light punch inside.
Masaru tries to throw a body punch but Koltun avoids it by throwing Masaru back against the cage.
Masaru misses with a hook to the ribs.
Masaru definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Masaru throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Koltun.

Masaru is trying to maintain a safe position but Koltun gets an underhook and turns Masaru into the cage.

With the fighters up against the cage, Koltun throws an elbow but misses.

Koltun pushes off an throws an elbow but Masaru leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Masaru digs a right hand underneath Koltun's ribcage. Koltun let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Masaru doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

A short body shot lands from Masaru as the two fighters clinch.
Masaru blocks a punch to the side of the head.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Masaru.

Masaru gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Well, if Masaru is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Masaru throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Koltun tries to get to full guard but Masaru has control of the leg.
Masaru content to control rather than advance.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Koltun is trying to maintain a safe position but Masaru gets an underhook and turns Koltun into the cage.

Masaru is looking to counter the offense by Koltun and move into the clinch.
Koltun swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Koltun misses with a looping right.
Masaru throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Koltun sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Koltun misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Masaru.
Masaru is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Koltun.
Masaru turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Masaru throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Masaru will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Koltun throws out a leg kick but Masaru moves out of range and Koltun only half commits.
Masaru shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Koltun sprawls well. Koltun wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Masaru gets slowly back to his feet.

Koltun tries a head kick but it misses.
Koltun scores with a jab to the jaw.
Masaru checks a low kick from Koltun.

Masaru darts in and clinches Koltun up against the cage.
Masaru lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
A nice left hand lands by Koltun.
Koltun misses with the head strike.

Masaru can't get the takedown.
Koltun stalls.

Koltun can't find room to land a body shot as Masaru controls the action.
Masaru is trying to stall.
Masaru content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Masaru tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Masaru has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Koltun clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Masaru really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Koltun.
Masaru has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Masaru is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Koltun can do to turn this around?

This is a sustained period of stalling by Masaru.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Masaru continues to hold on tight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Masaru controlling well, preventing Koltun from escaping the position.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Koltun lands a nice shot that snaps Masaru's head back.
Koltun looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Masaru is looking to clinch.
Koltun throws a low kick but Masaru moves out of range easily.
Koltun misses with a wild body shot.
A jab from Koltun misses.
Masaru tried to counter with a leg kick but Koltun avoided it.
Koltun throws a push kick but Masaru slaps the foot to one side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Koltun sizes up Masaru with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Masaru moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Koltun goes down! Can Masaru finish him!?


Koltun is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Masaru seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Koltun is still in real trouble! Can Masaru finish him?
Ryuu Masaru overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Masaru passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Masaru has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Masaru controlling the pace for now.
Koltun seems to have recovered his senses.
Masaru seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Koltun for as long as he can get away with.
Masaru continues to stall.
Kornel Koltun has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Masaru's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Koltun is squirming around, avoiding Masaru's attempts to control the action.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Koltun can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Masaru tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Ryuu Masaru showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Masaru has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
