Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lars Eriksson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Adam Aldhest! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eriksson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Aldhest moves into range and clinches up with Eriksson. Aldhest dodges an elbow strike from Eriksson.
Eriksson tries to circle away but Aldhest has him pinned against the cage. Aldhest tries a body shot but Eriksson blocks it.
Eriksson tries to land knees in the clinch but Aldhest avoids the damage to the body. Aldhest has Eriksson pressed against the cage, preventing Eriksson from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Aldhest drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Eriksson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Aldhest keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Eriksson's efforts to push away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aldhest breaks from the clinch.
Eriksson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Aldhest was well out of range. Poor timing from Eriksson. We've been told by Eriksson's head coaches at Nordic Top Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Eriksson looks to score with a jab to the body but Aldhest is just out of range. Eriksson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Aldhest sees it coming and avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eriksson misses with a right hand and Aldhest counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Eriksson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Eriksson tries for a takedown. No joy.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Aldhest has Eriksson pushed against the cage. Aldhest tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Aldhest is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Aldhest slows the pace down in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. It looks like Aldhest might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Aldhest is continuing to stall. Eriksson is trying to control but can't.
Aldhest wants to pass to mount but Eriksson is defending the position. Aldhest is taking a breather. Eriksson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eriksson trying to control but Aldhest postures up.
Aldhest seems to be working for a kimura but Eriksson defends the submission attempt. Aldhest takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Aldhest is pressing down on Eriksson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Eriksson is holding on for now. Eriksson is looking to control Aldhest's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Eriksson avoid being mounted?
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Aldhest is taking a breather. Eriksson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Eriksson connects with a nice looking jab.
Good shot there by Eriksson. Aldhest shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Eriksson as he jumps to the side. Lars Eriksson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Aldhest. Eriksson throws a predictable looking body shot
and Aldhest counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Eriksson wants to get back to striking at distance but Aldhest won't allow it.

Eriksson throws a jab when Aldhest was well out of range. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Eriksson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Aldhest shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Eriksson defends it nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Adam Aldhest dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Aldhest misses with a few strikes there.
A big right from Eriksson misses. Aldhest shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Eriksson pinned against the cage. Eriksson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Eriksson doesn't manage to clinch there - Aldhest circles away.
A shot to the liver by Aldhest. Beautiful body shot. Aldhest has his takedown stuffed and Eriksson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Eriksson is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Aldhest steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Eriksson. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Aldhest is defended easily by Eriksson. Lars Eriksson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Aldhest. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Eriksson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Aldhest counters with a three punch combo that has Eriksson backing up. Eriksson nods at Aldhest to acknowledge the strikes. Lars Eriksson is winning the standup battle so far. Aldhest tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Eriksson swivels and escapes. It looked like Eriksson was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Eriksson misses with a hook
and Aldhest counters with a flying knee. Nice. Aldhest avoids the body shot from Eriksson.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Eriksson, as that shot connected.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aldhest dives in for a single leg takedown but Eriksson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Lars Eriksson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Aldhest is breathing heavily. No luck for Aldhest with that takedown attempt. Aldhest moves forwards but Eriksson connects with a nice, crisp jab. A slow jab from Eriksson misses its intended target. Eriksson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Aldhest counters by moving into the clinch. Eriksson is trying to break free. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Aldhest escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Eriksson connects with a combination that backs up Aldhest into the cage. Eriksson lands a flurry of punches that gets past Aldhest's guard. Aldhest is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Eriksson bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lars Eriksson! Lars Eriksson spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
