PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Helios Garcius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Soren Sormsal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Soren Sormsal was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcius is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Garcius lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Helios Garcius seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sormsal avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sormsal with the counter takedown but Garcius avoids it easily.
Garcius slips under a jab.
As Sormsal looks to move away, Garcius throws a big counter combo bu Sormsal just gets out of the way.

and Sormsal counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sormsal.
Garcius pulls Sormsal in close to his closed guard and prevents Sormsal from doing any damage or advancing position.
Garcius is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garcius has control of Sormsal's left arm, preventing Sormsal from doing any damage.

Sormsal is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Sormsal tries to stand but Garcius is controlling from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Sormsal is working to avoid the ground and pound but Garcius connects with a decent elbow.

Sormsal is looking for a sweep.
Sormsal is pushing Garcius's head away, looking to escape. Garcius manages to hold on to the position though.

Garcius throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Sormsal works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

We've been hearing that Garcius has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Garcius is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sormsal!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Garcius cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Sormsal in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Garcius has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Sormsal's face.
Garcius has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Garcius lands a nice shot to the head.

Sormsal is rocked!
Sormsal tries to hold on but Garcius pushes him away.
Sormsal takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Garcius's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
