Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donnell Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe DeNisi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). DeNisi has chosen Thunderstruck by AC/DC as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joe DeNisi! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DeNisi drives through and clinches with Jenkins against the cage.
DeNisi tries for a takedown. No joy.
DeNisi manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. DeNisi trying to control the position.
Jenkins being controlled here momentarily. Jenkins stands up and waves to DeNisi to follow him. DeNisi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jenkins swivels and escapes. Jenkins really is a fat lump. DeNisi clinches up with Jenkins and pushes him back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jenkins tries to pull guard but DeNisi forces him back to his feet, against the cage. DeNisi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jenkins fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. DeNisi goes for a double leg but Jenkins avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jenkins continues to drive forward. Jenkins closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. DeNisi struggling a bit here. DeNisi regains half guard. DeNisi is defending against the submission attempts here by Jenkins.
DeNisi is trying to get back to full guard. Jenkins trying to control from half guard but DeNisi is working away. DeNisi holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jenkins missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Jenkins content to control rather than advance. Jenkins thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed DeNisi's head. Jenkins stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. A telegraphed takedown attempt from DeNisi is defended easily by Jenkins. DeNisi looks winded! DeNisi forces Jenkins back against the cage and clinches.

DeNisi wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. DeNisi pulls guard. Jenkins tries to stand but DeNisi is controlling from the bottom. Jenkins controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Jenkins gets to his feet - DeNisi follows without any prompting. DeNisi closes the distance and pushes Jenkins back into the cage. Jenkins managing to block the knees to the body from DeNisi.

That's four minutes gone in the round. DeNisi has Jenkins pressed against the cage, preventing Jenkins from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Jenkins tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

DeNisi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
DeNisi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jenkins swivels and escapes. It appears Jenkins was looking to counter with a kick there. DeNisi shoots in for a double leg but Jenkins sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. DeNisi clinches up with Jenkins and pushes him back against the cage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jenkins has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics DeNisi uses from the top position. Jenkins is trying to control the position but DeNisi postures up. DeNisi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. DeNisi pulls guard. DeNisi looking to control.
Jenkins is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! DeNisi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! DeNisi has escaped and now he's on top! Jenkins trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Jenkins wants to get back to his feet but DeNisi is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jenkins keeping moving, preventing DeNisi from controlling successfully. Jenkins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jenkins pulls DeNisi in close to prevent any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jenkins wants to improve his position but instead DeNisi has moved into half guard.
DeNisi stops Jenkins from getting back to his feet.
DeNisi works his way into side control. Jenkins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. DeNisi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. DeNisi happy to just control the position for now. DeNisi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jenkins keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. DeNisi working away. DeNisi stands up and beckons Jenkins to his feet. Joe DeNisi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck for DeNisi with that takedown attempt. Joe DeNisi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. DeNisi is breathing heavily. Jenkins tries for a takedown but DeNisi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! DeNisi shoots for a double leg takedown but Jenkins sprawls well. He's pushed DeNisi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. DeNisi fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jenkins changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. DeNisi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. DeNisi tries to buck Jenkins off but Jenkins is having none of it. DeNisi keeps trying to improve his position. DeNisi managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Jenkins.
Jenkins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but DeNisi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. DeNisi is trying to control Jenkins's posture but Jenkins avoids it. Jenkins stands up and we're back to a striking position. DeNisi misses with a double jab
and Jenkins counters with a solid body kick. DeNisi shoots in and drives through. Jenkins sprawls well. It looked like Jenkins was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from DeNisi. DeNisi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jenkins circles away. It appears Jenkins was looking to counter with a kick there. Jenkins shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. DeNisi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jenkins. DeNisi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jenkins as he avoids it easily. Jenkins shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches DeNisi napping and manages to drive through into side control! The ground and pound from Jenkins seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Jenkins tries for a kimura but DeNisi is defending well. Donnell Jenkins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. DeNisi is looking for a sweep. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round.
