Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wyatt Rojas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Al Jefferson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wyatt Rojas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Big Al Jefferson!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jefferson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rojas did well to prevent Jefferson getting side control.

Jefferson wants to work for an arm triangle but Rojas is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rojas is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Rojas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jefferson on the ground.
Well, if Jefferson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Jefferson stops Rojas from getting back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jefferson not doing much here.
Jefferson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jefferson blocks the strikes from Rojas.
Jefferson prevents Rojas from improving his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rojas is pressing down on Jefferson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Rojas has a closed guard, preventing Jefferson from standing up.
Jefferson distracts Rojas with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Jefferson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Jefferson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Jefferson connects with a couple of short punches.
Jefferson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jefferson stopping the sweep attempt from Rojas.
Jefferson stands and throws Rojas's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jefferson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Jefferson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Rojas some visible discomfort.
Rojas is trying to get back to half guard.
Jefferson advances to full mount.
Jefferson wants to control the pace but Rojas is squirming around nicely.

Jefferson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rojas to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rojas shrugs it off.

Jefferson working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Jefferson landing strikes from the mount.
Jefferson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Jefferson is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Jefferson connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jefferson looking to isolate an arm here. Rojas doesn't see it coming and as Jefferson extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Jefferson!
