Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grey Blanchard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that James Hogan has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily James Hogan seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Grey Blanchard!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hogan shoots in for a takedown but Blanchard shows good takedown defense.
Blanchard looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Left hook, right uppercut from Blanchard.
Hogan dives in for a single leg takedown but Blanchard sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Blanchard tries to clinch there but Hogan circles away.
Hogan gets a double leg takedown into Blanchard's guard.
Blanchard has momentary wrist control but Hogan slips an elbow through the middle.
Hogan distracts Blanchard with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Hogan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hogan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hogan lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hogan connects with a nice short shot to Blanchard's temple.

Hogan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Blanchard as he jumps to the side.

Hogan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Blanchard circles away.
Hogan tries for a takedown but Blanchard sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hogan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hogan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hogan closes the distance and clinches up with Blanchard, looking for a takedown. Hogan pushes Blanchard against the cage but Blanchard circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

James Hogan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
