Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Warren Booth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bubba Red (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Red is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Black Stone Cherry Bulldozer. Bubba Red has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Warren Booth's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Warren Booth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bubba Red!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Red slaps away a takedown attempt from Booth, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Booth swats away the attempt to clinch by Red.

Red dives in and scores a takedown into Booth's guard.
Red looking to sit in guard and control but Booth gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Booth slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Booth seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Red for as long as he can get away with.
Booth is looking to work some ground and pound but Red has wrist control.

Red looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Booth's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Booth is looking to work some ground and pound but Red has wrist control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Red throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Booth tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Red is in Booth's guard.
Booth has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Red wants to control from the top but Booth keeps moving.
Booth seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Red postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Booth is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Red, into his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bubba Red dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Red drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Red is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Booth knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Red keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Booth's efforts to push away.

Red turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Red manages to end up in side control.
Red tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Booth is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Red's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Red lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.


It looks like Warren Booth has been cut.
Red is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Red has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Booth regains full guard. Nicely done.

Booth has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Red can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Red must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Red drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Booth dives on top into guard.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Booth uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Red.

Red throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Booth was covering up waiting for the punch and Red finishes the takedown easily into guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Red closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Red lands in his opponent's guard.

Booth is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Red defends well.
Booth is trying to hold Red in close to prevent damage but Red has managed to pass into half guard.
Booth is staying active underneath Red, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Red drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Booth manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Red has Booth in his guard.

Bubba Red comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Red winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
