Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Linus Akerman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregor Musashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gregor Musashi is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gregor Musashi!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Musashi scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Musashi has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Akerman is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Musashi feints and as Akerman raises his hands in defense, Musashi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Musashi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Akerman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Akerman is trying to control Musashi's posture but Musashi avoids it.

Gregor Musashi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Musashi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Akerman quickly recovers to half guard.

Akerman tries to clinch but Musashi is having none of it.
Musashi does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Akerman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Musashi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Akerman.
Akerman takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Akerman gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Akerman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Musashi is trying to control but Akerman manages to pass to mount!
Musashi wants to hold on but Akerman pushes him away.
Gregor Musashi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Musashi is squirming around, avoiding Akerman's attempts to control the action.

Musashi is working to get back to half guard.
Musashi wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Akerman.
Akerman misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Musashi tries to reverse the position but Akerman maintains control.
Akerman unloads with some shots from mount but Musashi bucks and avoids them well.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Linus Akerman.
Well Musashi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
