Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick Doub! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Belfort! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Doub drives through with a takedown into guard. Belfort looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Doub thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Doub trying to control the position from guard on top but Belfort is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Doub looking to pass the guard. Doub advances position into side control! Doub thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Doub tries to move into full mount but can't pass Belfort's legs. Belfort is trying to get back to half guard. Doub scores with a couple of short elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Doub works to advance to full mount. Belfort defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Belfort wants to control but Doub is having none of it. Doub controlling from mount. Doub tries to control but Belfort wriggling away. Doub has isolated one of Belfort's arms. Belfort looking to fight him off but Doub twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
