Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beasty Kanne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Banner comes to the cage accompanied by Pump Up The Jam. Kanne comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Don't Cry For Me Argentina kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Beasty Kanne told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bruce Banner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
31 - 24 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Beasty Kanne! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kanne ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Banner moves away. Kanne closes the distance and pushes Banner back into the cage. Banner struggles to land a body shot inside as Kanne controls his hands.
Kanne breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've been informed that Kanne has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Kanne rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Banner moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Kanne darts in and clinches Banner up against the cage. Banner is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Kanne lands on the inside with an uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kanne blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Banner tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Kanne throws a right and a left that both miss. We've been hearing reports that Banner has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Banner throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Kanne. Banner circles away from the clinch attempt.
Banner misses the jab. Kanne lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Banner backs up against the cage.
Kanne throws a body punch but Banner moves out of range. Banner works the jab nicely. A low kick from Kanne misses and Banner counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kanne wants to control but Banner is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Banner is taking a breather. Kanne says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Banner passes the guard and advances to mount! Kanne sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Kanne pushes Banner off looking to stand but Banner dives back in and keeps control.
Kanne preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Kanne is pressing down on Banner's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Banner trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Banner throwing strikes from guard but Kanne blocks nicely. Banner postures up in Kanne's guard and throws a big left but Kanne blocks it. Banner looking to sit in guard and control but Kanne gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Kanne is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Banner looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kanne pushing down on Banner's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Kanne is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Banner tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Kanne has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Banner is squirming around, avoiding Kanne's attempts to control the action. Kanne controlling from the full mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Beasty Kanne dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Kanne fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Kanne moves into the clinch. Banner tries to score a body lock takedown but Kanne shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Kanne pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Beasty Kanne is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Banner on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Both fighters circling a little - Kanne finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Banner misses with an uppercut. Kanne scores with a punch to the head. Kanne swings and misses with a hook to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Banner looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kanne is fending him off so far but Banner persists. Nope, Kanne circles away and we're back to standing. Kanne clinches with his opponent.
Kanne has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Banner goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kanne prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruce Banner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kanne stalls. Kanne blocks a punch to the side of the head.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Kanne continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Both fighters working to control the clinch.

A head punch blocked on the inside by Kanne. Kanne tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Banner's elbow. Kanne gets underhooks to prevent Banner's takedown attempt.

Banner shoots in for a double leg but Kanne sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kanne misses with a straight left. Kanne throws an overhand right that lands on Banner's shoulder, as Banner tries to avoid the shot. Banner throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Kanne to counter with a crisp jab. Banner misses with a wild combination.
Kanne cracks Banner with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Beasty Kanne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Good work by Banner as he checks the leg kick. Kanne uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Banner has time to react.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Banner shoots in for a takedown but Kanne shows good takedown defense. Kanne throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Banner feinted with a counter takedown. Banner showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kanne.
Kanne looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Kanne throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kanne tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kanne takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Kanne misses with a double jab.

Beasty Kanne seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kanne jabs Banner to the body, keeping him at a distance. Kanne ducks under a wild hook from Banner. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Beasty Kanne showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Banner has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Bruce Banner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Banner thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Kanne sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Kanne has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Banner is working away from the top position though. Banner is looking for a kimura here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kanne holds on and takes a little breather. Banner throws a big elbow that misses. Banner makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Beasty Kanne is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Banner preventing the sweep. Banner wants to pass the guard but Kanne is keeping the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Beasty Kanne is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kanne digs a good body shot into Banner's ribs. Kanne slips a jab from Banner. No joy there for Kanne, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Beasty Kanne. I've got Kanne winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
