The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Battaglia shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dekkers pinned against the cage. Dekkers gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dekkers steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Battaglia looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brady Battaglia. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Dekkers counters with a nice right hand that sends Battaglia toppling to the canvas! Battaglia scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Dekkers finish him?!
Dekkers is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Battaglia shoots in looking for a takedown. Dekkers tries to sprawl out of it but Battaglia keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dekkers manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Dekkers counters with a huge left! Battaglia is in big trouble! He's backing up but Dekkers isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Battaglia from any more damage. A dominating finish by Dekkers!

A very excited looking Carlos Dekkers rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
