Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Raphael Jarvis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Maer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danny Maer has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raphael Jarvis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Danny Maer! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jarvis is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Maer. Maer feints and as Jarvis raises his hands in defense, Maer changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Maer wants to stand but Jarvis is controlling his posture from full guard. Maer advances to half guard. Maer performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Maer works his way into full mount! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maer working Jarvis over with strikes here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jarvis is squirming around, avoiding Maer's attempts to control the action. Maer has control of Jarvis's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jarvis regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Maer wants to control the pace but Jarvis is squirming around nicely. Jarvis tries to hold on but Maer postures up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Jarvis is squirming around, avoiding Maer's attempts to control the action. Maer thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Jarvis is working to get back to half guard.
Maer is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jarvis can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Jarvis tries to hold on but Maer postures up. Maer goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jarvis is on top in guard.
Jarvis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jarvis has gone for a leg lock! Maer slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jarvis's guard.
Jarvis throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Maer escapes and throws Jarvis's legs to the side, diving into side control! Jarvis wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maer stands up and beckons Jarvis to his feet. Maer drives through with a takedown into guard. Maer trying to control the position from guard on top but Jarvis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jarvis throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Maer wants to control from the top but Jarvis keeps moving. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jarvis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Maer dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Maer throws a front kick that sends Jarvis stumbling back into the cage. Maer throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jarvis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Maer is in Jarvis's guard. Maer postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Jarvis keeping moving, preventing Maer from controlling successfully. Maer with a flurry of punches that miss. Jarvis can't keep his opponent in guard - Maer advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maer works his way into side control. Maer trying to control the action but Jarvis is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maer controls the position. Jarvis struggling a bit here. Maer decides to stand back up. Maer steps back and let's Jarvis get back to his feet. Maer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jarvis seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Maer closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jarvis to the mat! Jarvis manages to get full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jarvis is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Jarvis keeping moving, preventing Maer from controlling successfully. Jarvis lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jarvis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jarvis stopping the sweep attempt from Maer. Jarvis wants to stand but Maer is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maer pulls Jarvis in to control the position. Jarvis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Maer dives on top into guard.
Jarvis is working an open guard so Maer takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jarvis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Maer to score an easy takedown into full guard. Danny Maer has got the better of the ground game so far. Maer is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jarvis keeping moving, preventing Maer from controlling successfully. Maer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Jarvis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Maer wants to pass the guard but Jarvis is keeping the position. Jarvis is working an open guard so Maer takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Maer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Maer wants to stand but Jarvis has a closed guard, so he can't escape. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maer decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jarvis, up you get!

Jarvis swings widly with a right hand
and Maer counters with a nice double leg into guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Maer is looking to stand up but Jarvis won't let him. Maer makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Maer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jarvis working a defensive guard but Maer manages to pass into side control anyway.
Maer connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Jarvis some visible discomfort.
Maer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jarvis keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maer works to advance to full mount. Jarvis defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Maer trying to control but Jarvis is having none of it. Maer looking to secure an arm triangle but Jarvis defends it well. Maer lands a big shot there that rocks Jarvis but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maer controlling the position easily from mount. Maer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jarvis is looking to escape. Maer with good strikes from the mount here! Maer trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Maer sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Jarvis is just holding on here. Maer manages to take his back.
Raphael Jarvis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Danny Maer is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Maer is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Jarvis has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
And that's the end of the fight! Danny Maer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Maer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
