Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tim Hoffman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Al Jefferson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Big Al Jefferson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jefferson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hoffman to the mat! Hoffman manages to get full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Jefferson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Jefferson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hoffman is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jefferson defends well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hoffman closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jefferson did well to prevent Hoffman getting side control.

Jefferson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hoffman is just riding it out for now. Jefferson eventually gives up the hold.

Hoffman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jefferson is controlling the pace.
Hoffman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jefferson on the ground.

Jefferson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hoffman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hoffman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jefferson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jefferson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
