Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Modesto Stanton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerald Hendo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Modesto Stanton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gerald Hendo!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stanton wants to clinch.

Hendo moves into the clinch.
Hendo wants to get back to striking at distance but Stanton won't allow it.

Hendo pulls guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hendo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stanton defends well.
Hendo wants to sweep here but Stanton controlling him for the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stanton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hendo seems keen to control Stanton's posture.
Hendo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Stanton wants to control but Hendo is keeping busy.
Still in half guard, Hendo seems content to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hendo blocks the strikes from Stanton.
Hendo seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Stanton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Stanton is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hendo in particular looking to stall.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hendo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hendo showed some decent athleticism there.
Stanton is positioning himself well to prevent Hendo advancing to mount.

Hendo is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Stanton trying to hold on to Hendo's head to control him but Hendo postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stanton wants to get back to full guard but Hendo has mounted him!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hendo wants to stand but Stanton is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Hendo drives through and clinches with Stanton against the cage.

Hendo has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Stanton regains guard immediately.
Hendo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stanton works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stanton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hendo content to stall in guard here.

Hendo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Stanton to the mat! Stanton manages to get full guard.

Hendo tries to free his leg and advance position but Stanton is retaining full guard.
Hendo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Stanton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Stanton thows a huge punch but Hendo dodges it nicely.
Hendo trying to hold on to Stanton's head to control him but Stanton postures up.
Stanton looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hendo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Hendo is pressing down on Stanton's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Stanton is fighting to break Hendo's control of his arms but Hendo is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Hendo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Stanton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Stanton wants to control from the top but Hendo keeps moving.
Stanton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hendo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hendo wants to take a breather but Stanton is having none of it.

Well, if Hendo is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Stanton is looking to control Hendo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Stanton avoid being mounted?

Gerald Hendo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Stanton missing with knees to the body.
Hendo is trying to force a seperation but Stanton has the dominant position.

Hendo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Good exchange - Hendo coming out on top.
Hendo misses with a hook. Stanton ducked under it nicely.

Stanton has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hendo is working away from the top position though.
Hendo is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Hendo content to control rather than advance.
Stanton is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hendo content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Stanton avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Stanton gets caught napping as Hendo dives in and scores a takedown. Stanton manages to retain guard.

Hendo stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Stanton scores with a sloppy right hand. Hendo should have avoided that one.

Hendo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Hendo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Stanton tries to roll over but Hendo keeps him under control.
Stanton trying to control but Hendo postures up.
Stanton tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Stanton has hold of Hendo's hands but Hendo slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hendo slows the pace down in half guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hendo lands with a nice combination. Stanton backs away looking to recover.


It looks like Modesto Stanton has been cut.

Stanton is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Gerald Hendo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hendo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
