Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Shields!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Shields with the counter takedown but Bob avoids it easily.

Shields scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Shields wants to pass the guard but Bob is defending well.
Bob is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Vicious Striking, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Shields tries to free his leg and advance position but Bob is retaining full guard.

Bob can't keep his opponent in guard - Shields advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bob is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shields pulls his head out easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bob has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shields is working away from the top position though.

Bob moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Shields pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bob is keeping the position for now.

Bob escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shields gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Bob working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shields doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shields manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bob has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shields can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Shields stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bob swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bob is looking to cinch up a triangle. Shields throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Bob's body to avoid the submission. Bob has instead reached around Shields's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Bob arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Billy Bob!
Billy Bob really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that V-Mask Clothing (10%) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
Jason Shields spoke after the fight, saying 'I gotta go back and train hard and wait for my next fight offer'.
