PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chin Checker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dick Wad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Checker's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Time to Fight. Dick Wad told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dick Wad!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Santiago Holmes and Michael Johnstone.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Checker bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Checker tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Wad manages to circle out of the way.
Checker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A swing and a miss from Wad.
Wad throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Checker ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Donk. Wad catches Checker right on the button with a cross.
Wad misses the shot to the body.
Checker lands a slapping body shot.
Wad throws a hook but Checker blocks it.
Checker looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Wad thows a leg kick but Checker checks it
and Checker counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Dick Wad has been cut.
Checker takes a swing at Wad's ribcage but misses.
Checker cracks Wad with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Wad swings widly with a right hand

and Checker counters with a crisp right hand that drops Wad! Checker lets Wad back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Wad is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A slow jab from Wad misses its intended target.
Wad is still on wobbly legs! Can Checker finish him?
Checker lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Wad falls backwards - clearly groggy! Checker dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chin Checker!
After the fight, Chin Checker was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
