Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zlatan Den Store (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Zlatan Den Store!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Ross!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross slips a jab from Den Store.
Ross misses with a leg kick

and Den Store counters by moving into the clinch.
Ross scores with a hook to the body.

Ross's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Den Store throws a sloppy head kick
and Ross counters with a stiff right hand.
Dan Ross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ross shoots in and drives through. Den Store sprawls well.

Den Store clinches with his opponent.
Ross is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Den Store is defending well.

Den Store breaks from the clinch.
Den Store pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Den Store uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ross.
Den Store lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Ross throws out a leg kick but Den Store moves out of range and Ross only half commits.
Den Store jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

Den Store lands a left and a right that send Ross crashing to the mat, dazed. Den Store thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Dan Ross has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ross scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Den Store connects with a leg kick. Ross looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Ross throws out a loose jab but Den Store uses good head movement to avoid it.
A counter left hand to the body from Den Store misses its target.
Jab from Ross.
Ross looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A lazy left from Ross finds it's target.
Ross blocks a head kick by Den Store.
Den Store throws a sloppy head kick
and Ross counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Den Store lands a big head kick that sends Ross tumbling to the mat! Den Store takes a step backwards and waves Ross back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Ross is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ross. Den Store does a little dance to reset his feet.
It looked like Den Store was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Ross is still on wobbly legs! Can Den Store finish him?

Den Store gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Den Store scores with a shot to the side of Ross's head.
I was talking to Den Store's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Den Store manages to break the clinch.
Den Store misses with a double jab.
Ross throws a looping overhand right but Den Store ducks down to avoid it.
Den Store misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ross doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Ross looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Den Store is fending him off so far but Ross persists. Nope, Den Store circles away and we're back to standing.
Ross seems to have recovered his senses.
Zlatan Den Store has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Ross.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ross stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Den Store ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ross scores with a decent looking hook.
Den Store misses with a head kick.
Ross looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Ross shoots in but Den Store avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Den Store throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Ross counter with a right hand.

Den Store throws a head kick that misses
and Ross counters with a big right hand! Oh Den Store is in trouble here! Ross follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Ross!
After the fight, Dan Ross was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
