Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jim Beckett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moore has chosen Frank Klepacki - March to doom as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 19 - 3, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bobby Moore!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beckett is looking to slow Moore down with leg kicks.
Beckett misses with a leg kick.
Jim Beckett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Moore. Beckett shrugs it off though.
Beckett looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Moore scoring well with a low kick there.
Beckett swings widly with a right hand
and Moore counters with a nice uppercut.
A head kick from Beckett lands but Moore takes it in his stride.
Moore connects with a nice looking jab.
A low kick from Beckett is predictable there
and Moore counters with a nice leg kick.
Beckett throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Beckett tried to score with a low kick but Moore checks it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Moore fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Beckett throws a hook but Moore avoids it easily.
A shot to the liver by Beckett. Beautiful body shot.
Beckett lands with a nice combination. Moore backs away looking to recover.
Beckett darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Beckett connects with a solid leg kick.
Moore avoids the body shot from Beckett.
Moore uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Beckett.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Moore chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Beckett can pounce on him.
Moore throws the kick towards the body but Beckett avoids it.

Beckett decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Beckett thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Beckett loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Moore has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Beckett has passed into side control.
Beckett is trying to ground and pound but Moore uses the momentary lack of control by Beckett to regain half guard.
Beckett wants to take a breather but Moore is having none of it.

Beckett is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Moore is just riding it out for now. Beckett eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Moore keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Beckett looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Moore has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Moore wants to improve his position but Beckett is controlling well.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Moore is still trying to improve position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Beckett dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Moore takes one on the button.
Beckett throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Beckett lands with a hook. Moore tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Jim Beckett is winning the standup battle so far.
Moore walks into a left hand.
Moore throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Beckett looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Beckett falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Moore counter with a right hand.
Beckett is looking to slow Moore down with leg kicks.
Beckett connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Beckett tries to score with a low kick but Moore moves his leg out of the way.
Beckett fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Beckett throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Moore looking to hit a scissor sweep but Beckett is one step ahead there.
Moore utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Moore has control of Beckett's left arm, preventing Beckett from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moore lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Moore works over Beckett with some ground and pound from guard.
Beckett is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Moore can do to turn this around?

Beckett pulls Moore in close to prevent any damage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Beckett is on top in guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Moore makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Moore.
Beckett postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Moore is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Beckett swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Moore swings for the body but Beckett moves out of range.
Beckett attempts a counter takedown but Moore avoids it well and moves away.

Beckett uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Moore.
Beckett appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Beckett takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Beckett cracks Moore with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Moore throws a looping overhand right but Beckett ducks down to avoid it.
Moore takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beckett connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Moore momentarily.

Beckett looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Beckett tries to work over Moore's front leg with a kick but Moore checks it.
Beckett connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Moore's hands.

Moore on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Beckett shoots in but Moore avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Moore throws a leg kick but Beckett sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Moore ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Moore swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Beckett throws out a loose jab but Moore uses good head movement to avoid it.
Beckett lands with a good body shot.
Moore throws a low kick but Beckett moves out of range easily.

Beckett fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Moore.
Bobby Moore has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Beckett uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Moore has time to react.
Moore shoots in but Beckett avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Beckett feinted with a counter takedown.
Beckett displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Moore throws out the jab.
Beckett throws a leg kick which misses Moore's front leg but catches the back leg as Moore tries to avoid it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Moore slips a straight right by Beckett.
Beckett takes a swing at Moore's ribcage but misses.
Moore's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Beckett throws a head kick that misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Moore! But no joy.
Moore walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Beckett checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Moore keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Moore throws a jab but it's blocked by Beckett.
Moore cracks the inside of Beckett's front leg.
Moore lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Beckett scores with a decent looking hook.
Moore is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Beckett.
Beckett lands with a nice body kick.
Moore on the wrong end of a nice jab.
A jab lands there for Beckett.
Moore throws a sloppy head kick and Beckett moves out of range easily.
Beckett lands a front kick.
A lazy left from Moore finds it's target.
Moore takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Beckett connects with a leg kick. Moore looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Moore looks to throw the jab but Beckett is out of range.
Beckett throws a combination that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Beckett throws a low kick but Moore moves out of range easily.
Moore throws out a counter right but Beckett avoids it with no problem.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Beckett, right into the meat.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Moore takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Beckett lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Moore misses the shot to the body.
Beckett misses with an attempted mid kick.
Moore looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Beckett's corner calls for a 1-2. Beckett obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Beckett lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Beckett lands with an overhand left.
Beckett shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Moore as he avoids it easily.
Moore throws the left hand but Beckett avoids the punch easily.
Moore displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Beckett throws out the jab.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jim Beckett showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Beckett has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
