Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Oliver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Jaeger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nathan Oliver! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Jaeger! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jaeger fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Oliver wants to clinch. Jaeger rushes Oliver and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Jaeger manages to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jaeger wants to sweep here but Oliver controlling him for the moment. Oliver with a flurry of punches that miss. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jaeger has his foot on Oliver's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Oliver works his way back into a safe position though. Oliver wants to control from the top but Jaeger keeps moving. Oliver postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jaeger throws his legs up looking for a submission but Oliver uses it to pass to side control.

No chance. Oliver wants to control from the top but Jaeger keeps moving. Jaeger has his foot on Oliver's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Oliver works his way back into a safe position though. Oliver with a flurry of punches that miss. Oliver preventing the sweep. Oliver chips away with some ground and pound. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Jaeger looking for a sweep. Not yet Jaeger, not yet.

Jaeger looks gassed! Oliver postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Oliver throwing strikes but missing. Jaeger working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Oliver has passed into half guard!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Oliver slips a nice elbow through Jaeger's hands, connecting with Jaeger's forehead. Jaeger is trying to get back to full guard. Oliver is nestled in close to Jaeger, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Oliver seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Jaeger actively working from the bottom here. Jaeger wants to get back to full guard but Oliver has mounted him! Jaeger defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Oliver. Jaeger can't escape the position.

Oliver tries to clinch and Jaeger counters with a big head kick but Oliver shrugs it off. Jaeger stuffs the takedown. Nathan Oliver is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Oliver waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Jaeger. Jaeger closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jaeger sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Oliver defending well though. Jaeger is working for a kimura but Oliver is defending it quite comfortably.
Oliver wants to improve his position but Jaeger is controlling well.
Jaeger trying to advance position but Oliver counters by regaining guard. Jaeger stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oliver swivels though and keeps the full guard. Oliver is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Oliver wants to clinch up but Jaeger keeps it at a distance. Oliver throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jaeger scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Oliver has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jaeger is working away from the top position though. Oliver missing with punches from the bottom.

Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Oliver's head. Jaeger is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Oliver bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jaeger's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Oliver accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Oliver trying to control but Jaeger is working from the bottom. Jaeger controls Oliver momentarily but Oliver frees himself. Jaeger manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Jaeger is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Oliver trying to control the position from guard on top but Jaeger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jaeger controls Oliver momentarily but Oliver frees himself. Travis Jaeger has got the better of the ground game so far. Oliver throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jaeger works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oliver is looking to work some ground and pound but Jaeger has wrist control. Oliver postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Oliver bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Oliver working away. Oliver looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Jaeger gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jaeger works his way to full guard. Good work. Jaeger throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Oliver escapes and throws Jaeger's legs to the side, diving into side control! Jaeger tries to improve position but can't. Jaeger is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Oliver takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Jaeger wants to improve his position but Oliver is controlling well.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Jaeger is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Oliver is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Oliver has escaped and now he's on top!

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jaeger isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Oliver stacks Jaeger on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Oliver! Oliver works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Oliver grinds an elbow into Jaeger's temple. Jaeger sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Nathan Oliver had his way with Travis Jaeger in that round. That's time! Oliver's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Jaeger looks for a takedown but Oliver sprawls well. Oliver clinches but Jaeger breaks the clinch and Jaeger counters with a head kick. Oliver tries for a takedown but Jaeger circles away easily and Jaeger moves into the clinch. Jaeger works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Oliver lands a couple of shots from the bottom.

Jaeger sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Oliver's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jaeger wants to work for an arm triangle but Oliver is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Oliver darts in trying to clinch and Jaeger counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Oliver! Jaeger tries to control but Oliver wriggling away. Jaeger working away from the top, dropping strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jaeger prevents Oliver from getting the reversal. Jaeger is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Oliver has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Oliver! Jaeger controls Oliver momentarily but Oliver frees himself. Oliver looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jaeger with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Oliver is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The fighters are battling for position here. Jaeger manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Jaeger tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jaeger working for a triangle but Oliver defends it easily.
