PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Khaesar Lehm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bison Bowden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lehm might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Carved Inside. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Khaesar Lehm! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bison Bowden! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Lehm misses its intended target. Lehm is looking to slow Bowden down with leg kicks. Lehm clobbers Bowden with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Lehm lands a jab to the head.
Nice uppercut lands for Lehm. That snapped Bowden's head back.
Lehm throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Bowden let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Bowden takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Bowden throws a nice looking combination but Lehm bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. He must have been working on that in the gym. Lehm scores with the left hand. Bowden knows he should have avoided that one. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lehm with a nice cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lehm throws an off balance right hand
and Bowden counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Lehm! Bowden working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lehm tries to improve position but can't. Bowden working the head with strikes. Lehm takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Bowden wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lehm keeps working. Bowden misses with the ground and pound. Check out the look on Bowden's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bowden wants to control but Lehm is keeping him busy. Lehm knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bowden on the ground. Lehm is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Bowden trying to control the action but Lehm is working from the bottom. Bowden is putting a hurting on Lehm here, landing some big shots from side control. Bowden scoring with punches and elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! You can see the frustration on Lehm's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Bowden lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Lehm down.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lehm is not content to let Bowden control the position. Bowden decides to stand back up. Bowden steps back and let's Lehm get back to his feet. A good leg kick by Lehm. A combination from Bowden does no damage. Lehm defending well as Bowden loads up on a big left hand. Lehm lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Bison Bowden has been cut. Bowden throws out a loose jab but Lehm uses good head movement to avoid it. Lehm fires out a quick counter leg kick but Bowden just manages to avoid it. Lehm with a nice cross. Good shot there by Lehm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lehm is looking to score with low kicks. And Bowden tries to counter it with a takedown but Lehm pushes his down on his head and steps out. Lehm lands a right hook to the body.
An inside leg kick lands from Lehm. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bowden gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Lehm. Bowden misses with a jab to the body
and Lehm counters with a straight right hand. Lehm drops his shoulder and cracks Bowden with a huge uppercut! Bowden goes down! Can Lehm finish him?
Bowden is rocked! Lehm tries to stand but Bowden is controlling from the bottom. Lehm trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Khaesar Lehm dominated that round. The cut man is working on Bison Bowden's cut. That's time! Lehm's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Lehm lands a lovely overhand right. Lehm lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Lehm tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bowden was well out of range. Poor timing from Lehm. Bowden on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Lehm looks to throw the jab but Bowden is out of range. A little jabbing left from Bowden on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Bowden throws a series of punches but Lehm moves out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lehm lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lehm throws a jab when Bowden was well out of range. Lehm connects with a right hand. Bowden shakes it off. Lehm misses with an uppercut. Bowden saw that one coming. Bowden looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Bowden cracks Lehm with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Lehm slips a jab and a cross from Bowden.
Lehm throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Lehm is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bowden. Bowden looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Lehm cracks a nice hook into Bowden's ribs. Lehm feints a jab promting Bowden to slip. Lehm then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Bowden slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Lehm swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bowden.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lehm fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bowden looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lehm rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bowden moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Bowden uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lehm. Lehm throws a sloppy head kick and Bowden counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Bowden throws the left hand but Lehm avoids the punch easily. That's three minutes gone in the round. Bowden misses the jab. Lehm connects with the punch. Lehm lands a big shot that drops Bowden! Can he finish him?
Bowden is still in real trouble! Can Lehm finish him? Bowden wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Lehm trying to control the position from guard on top but Bowden is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bowden seems to have recovered his senses. Lehm has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Bowden to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Lehm is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Bowden pulls down on the head and he's put Lehm to sleep! This one is all over!
