Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Best (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Pegeant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Best!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dennis Pegeant!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pegeant shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Best as he avoids it easily.

Pegeant closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Best did well to prevent Pegeant getting side control.
Pegeant content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Pegeant prevents Best from improving his position.
Pegeant looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Best knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pegeant on the ground.
Best tries to kick Pegeant off but Pegeant keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Best looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Best is looking to get back to is feet but Pegeant passes into side control.

Pegeant is trying to get an arm triangle but Best is defending well.
Pegeant gets to mount! Best was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Best's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Pegeant prevents Best from getting the reversal.
Best throwing hammer fists to the chest of Pegeant. What's that going to do exactly?
Pegeant lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Pegeant looking to finish Best with some ground and pound. This is bad for Best!
Best tries to control Pegeant's body but Pegeant pushes him off. Best squirms to his side and now Pegeant has his back!
Best is trying to stand back up.

Best looking very determined here, making life difficult for Pegeant.
What can Best do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Best is trying to get back to his feet but Pegeant has full control of the position and if anything, Best has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Well, with Pegeant on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Best is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Best is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Best just trying to survive but Pegeant is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Best is trying to stand back up.
Will Pegeant go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Best tries to escape the position.
Best might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Pegeant is not going to allow Best to sit and survive in this position.
I really don't envy Best right now.
Best is trying to stand back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Pegeant punishes Best with strikes from the back mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dennis Pegeant dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Best has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Best throws out a loose jab but Pegeant uses good head movement to avoid it.
As Best backs off Pegeant throws a huge counter combo but Best manages to avoid it all.
Best throws a looping overhand right but Pegeant ducks down to avoid it.
Best closes the distance but Pegeant moves to the side

and Pegeant counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Best is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Pegeant dives into side control.
Best tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Best is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Best is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Pegeant gets his way!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pegeant is punishing Best with some ground and pound.

Pegeant is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Dennis Pegeant has got the better of the ground game so far.

Pegeant working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Best is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Pegeant has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Best taps out!
