PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Vale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Frederiksen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vale comes to the cage accompanied by Motorhead-Iron Fist . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Vale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fred Frederiksen!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vale decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Vale with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Frederiksen is staying active underneath Vale, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vale missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Vale with the ground and pound but Frederiksen uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Frederiksen can't keep his opponent in guard - Vale advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Vale is working for a submission of some sort.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vale sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Vale trying to control the action but Frederiksen is working from the bottom.
Vale throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vale wants to control but Frederiksen is keeping him busy.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Vale stalling away here and it's allowed Frederiksen to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Vale is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've been hearing good reports from Vale's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Frederiksen wants to sweep here but Vale controlling him for the moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Vale clinches.
Frederiksen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vale is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Vale has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Frederiksen clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Vale controls the action.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Vale's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Vale. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Vale tightening his grip on Frederiksen, looking for the choke.
Vale connects with a big shot to the side of Frederiksen's head.
Frederiksen takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Vale wants to control but Frederiksen is keeping busy.
Frederiksen is really stuck here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vale is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Vale gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Vale gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Vale apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Vale clobbers Frederiksen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
We've been informed that Frederiksen has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Vale closes this distance looking for a takedown but Frederiksen circles away.
Vale dives in and grabs Frederiksen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Frederiksen pushes down on Vale's head and hops out.
Vale pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Frederiksen back to the cage. Vale follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Vale drops Frederiksen with a left and a right! Oh, Frederiksen is hurt - Vale dives into side control looking to finish!


Frederiksen is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Frederiksen being controlled for a moment.
Frederiksen is still in real trouble! Can Vale finish him?
Vale works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Frederiksen looks winded!
Vale wants to control but Frederiksen is keeping him busy.
Vale has knee on belly momentarily but Frederiksen bucks him off and regains half guard.
Frederiksen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Simon Vale dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Vale misses with a jab, cross combination.
Frederiksen seems to have recovered his senses.
Vale tries to close the distance and clinch but Frederiksen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Frederiksen! But no joy.
Frederiksen looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Vale feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Frederiksen crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Simon Vale!
Simon Vale took some time post fight to say the following; 'I am the man that can't fail. I am the demon Simon Vale,and I just made you my bitch, who's next. '.
