Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between JR Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zack Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Powell comes to the cage accompanied by Sound of Madness. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, JR Powell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zack Daniels! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daniels shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Daniels pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Powell is keeping the position for now. Powell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Daniels is one step ahead there. Powell is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Powell trying to keep a closed guard but Daniels is proving a slippery customer.
Powell manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Daniels really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Powell working for a submission but Daniels is keeping him at bay. Powell is landing with some decent strikes but Daniels is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. A nice elbow there by Powell. Powell dominating with strikes here. Powell lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daniels tries to get back to half guard but can't. Powell scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Powell trying to control but Daniels is having none of it. Powell with a couple of short strikes. Powell moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Daniels has worked his arm free - good work by Daniels!
Daniels tries to get back to half guard but can't. Powell sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Daniels is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Powell tries to advance to mount but Daniels denies him. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Powell working the ground and pound but Daniels is defending the strikes. Daniels is looking to regain half guard here but Powell keeps moving and retains side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Powell tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Powell has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Daniels drops his hands momentarily and Powell takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Daniels. Powell throws a sloppy head kick and Daniels moves out of range easily. Powell throws a series of punches but Daniels moves out of range. Powell is breathing heavily. Powell throws the left hand but Daniels avoids the punch easily. Daniels avoids a punch combination nicely.
Powell with a poor takedown and Daniels counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Daniels passes to full mount! Powell has given up his back. Will we see Daniels going for some submissions?
Powell trying to control the action but Daniels just sinks the hooks in.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daniels is looking for the choke from the back position but Powell is controlling his hands well. Daniels is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Powell is in bad spot here.
Daniels is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Powell is defending well though. Daniels let's go of the attempt for now. Daniels is trying to stick to Powell's back but Powell is turning into Daniels. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Daniels's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Powell. Powell trying to control the position from guard on top but Daniels is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Daniels is looking for a triangle but Powell pushes his legs off easily.
Daniels looking for a sweep. Not yet Daniels, not yet. Powell tries to free his leg and advance position but Daniels is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Daniels working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Powell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Daniels is tightening it up a little... Powell has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Powell reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Powell taps out! nice BJJ there by Daniels!
