Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Phil Tinker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Boggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boggs has chosen "Miami Vice Theme" by Jan Hammer as his entrance music. Tyson Boggs has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Phil Tinker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 10 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tyson Boggs! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice combination there by Tinker.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tinker. Tinker looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Nice takedown defense from Boggs. No joy for Tinker on that attempt. Tinker will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phil Tinker. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tinker throws a hook but Boggs avoids it easily. Boggs shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Boggs stands up over Tinker, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Tinker is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Boggs postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tinker is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Boggs, into his guard.
Boggs is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real. Tinker drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Boggs dives on top into guard.

Boggs lands a couple of decent looking shots. Boggs avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Boggs stops Tinker from standing up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boggs postures up in Tinker's guard and throws a big left but Tinker blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Tinker looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Boggs has picked Tinker up and slammed him! Tinker can't keep hold of the triangle and Boggs manages to pass to side control! Tinker is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Tinker wants to control but Boggs postures up. Boggs goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Tinker has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Boggs but great work by Tinker. Tinker decides to stand back up. Phil Tinker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Boggs displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tinker. Boggs fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tinker sprawls well initially but Boggs persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Boggs looks to land a strike but Tinker avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Tinker looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Boggs passes into half guard.
Boggs working over Tinker with some ground and pound. Tinker looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boggs has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Tinker works to full guard. Boggs wants to stand but Tinker has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Tinker looking for a guillotine here but Boggs defends easily.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tyson Boggs dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Tinker throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Tinker blocks a head kick by Boggs.
It looked like Tinker was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Boggs shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Boggs was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Boggs in side control lands a decent elbow. Tinker is looking to regain half guard here but Boggs keeps moving and retains side control. Tinker could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Tinker is working hard here to advance position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boggs trying to control the position but Tinker is working away. Tinker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tinker is not in a great position here, taking some shots. You can see the frustration on Tinker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Boggs looks up at the clock and then as Tinker takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Boggs smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Tinker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Boggs tries to get to his feet but Tinker is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Boggs in his guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tinker throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Boggs escapes and throws Tinker's legs to the side, diving into side control! Tinker is looking to regain half guard here but Boggs keeps moving and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tinker taking punishment in the form of punches.
Boggs tries to stand but Tinker is controlling his head. Tinker takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Boggs lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Boggs wants to stand but Tinker has his arm trapped.
That's four minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Tinker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Boggs grinds an elbow into Tinker's temple. Tinker wants to get back to his feet. Tinker throws Boggs to one side and escapes! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tinker gets a double leg takedown into Boggs's guard. Boggs lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
This has been an exciting period of action! Boggs looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Tyson Boggs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

and Boggs counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Boggs seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Tinker tries to kick Boggs off but Boggs keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Tinker tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Boggs working the head and body with strikes. Tinker looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boggs is trying to control. Tinker wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Tinker wants to get back to his feet.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Tinker has a takedown stuffed. Tinker tries to score a power double leg takedown but Boggs sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tinker somewhat. Tinker tries to clinch and Boggs counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Tinker! Check out the look on Boggs's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Tinker is rocked! Boggs tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boggs scores with punches from side control. Oh Tinker is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Boggs lands an elbow. Boggs wants to stand but Tinker has his arm trapped. Tinker seems to have got his legs back now. Tinker gets back to half guard. Boggs lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tinker has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Boggs. Oh but Tinker has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Boggs goes limp - he's gone! Tinker jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
