Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Art Ist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Howard Stern (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stern has chosen The Great American Nightmare as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Art Ist!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Howard Stern!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stern gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Ist holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Ist works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Ist lands a couple of digs.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ist accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Stern wants to sweep here but Ist controlling him for the moment.
Ist postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Stern wants to stand up but Ist is controlling him.

Stern had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ist defends it easily.

Stern is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stern working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ist doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ist manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Ist in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Ist working some strikes from top position.
Ist might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Ist stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stern swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ist throws a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ist in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Stern throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Stern throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Stern trying to keep a closed guard but Ist is proving a slippery customer.
Ist looking to pass the guard.
Our spies down at at The Iron Palace inform us that Stern has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Stern has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ist can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ist is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Ist got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stern has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ist has managed to get both his arms back between Stern's legs - danger averted.
Ist advances position into side control!

Stern is looking to reverse the position.
Ist misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Ist wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Stern, who protects the arm well.
Ist fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Ist tries to move into full mount but can't pass Stern's legs.

Ist thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Stern is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Ist in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Stern is looking to reverse the position.
Stern keeps trying to improve his position.

Ist is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stern is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Stern is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ist's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Stern looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Stern blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ist.

Stern is looking for a sweep. Ist is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ist seems to be working for a kimura but Stern defends the submission attempt.

Ist is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Stern defends it well.

Stern is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ist pulls his head out easily.

Stern looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Ist!

Stern wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ist, who protects the arm well.

Ist is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Stern off and has taken his back!

Ist tightening his grip on Stern, looking for the choke.
Ist is not going to allow Stern to sit and survive in this position.

Ist is persistently looking for the submission but Stern is defending it well.
Ist is hanging on to Stern's back as he tries to escape.

Stern wants to escape the position.
Stern manages to reverse the position and now he's in Ist's guard. Nice work there by Stern.
Stern lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Art Ist overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Stern slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Ist sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Stern is looking for a kimura here.
Ist regains full guard. Nicely done.
Ist looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stern is one step ahead there.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Ist is looking for a triangle but Stern pushes his legs off easily.

Ist has his foot on Stern's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stern works his way back into a safe position though.
Ist keeping moving, preventing Stern from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ist looking for a guillotine here but Stern defends easily.

Stern drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stern jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Ist looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Stern is pushing down on Ist's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ist is fighting to maintain full guard but Stern has managed to sneak the leg through.
Stern tries to pass to full mount but Ist defends it.
Stern stalling away here and it's allowed Ist to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Stern wants to pass the guard but Ist is keeping the position.

Ist is looking for a triangle but Stern pushes his legs off easily.
Ist is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Stern can do to turn this around?

Ist looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Ist trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Stern drops back looking for a leg! Ist is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ist manages to kick Stern off! Stern jumps back into Ist's guard.

Stern avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Stern wants to control from the top but Ist keeps moving.

Ist is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stern defends well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Stern is in close to Ist's body, working some short punches and elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Howard Stern will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Stern is looking to clinch but Ist is avoiding it.
Ist on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Ist shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ist was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Stern avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Ist.
Stern tries to bench press Ist off him but Ist keeps the position.
Stern on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Stern is looking to reverse the position.
Stern is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Stern gets full guard.

Stern is looking for a triangle but Ist pushes his legs off easily.

Stern sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Stern makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Stern.

Stern has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Ist doesn't defend quickly enough and Stern has managed to lock this one up! Can Ist escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Stern on a fantastic submission victory.
