Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marat Gafurov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vyacheslav Kowalchuk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gafurov kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Queen – I Want To Break Free. Kowalchuk is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Moskau. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marat Gafurov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vyacheslav Kowalchuk ! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kowalchuk tries to clinch there but Gafurov circles away.
Kowalchuk throws a lazy head kick and Gafurov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Gafurov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Kowalchuk has his foot on Gafurov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gafurov works his way back into a safe position though. Gafurov showing good wrestling skills to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gafurov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kowalchuk is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gafurov sitting in guard here, content to control. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Kowalchuk waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gafurov. Gafurov staying out of range there. Gafurov thuds his right hand into Kowalchuk 's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Gafurov looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Kowalchuk wants to clinch. Kowalchuk closes the distance looking to clinch and Gafurov counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gafurov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Gafurov makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Kowalchuk working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gafurov. Kowalchuk pushes a forearm under Gafurov's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Gafurov is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
