Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rolf Borjesson!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Borjesson defends well and Burns ends up having to push Borjesson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Borjesson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Burns will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
As Burns backs off Borjesson throws a huge counter combo but Burns manages to avoid it all.
Burns tries to clinch up.
Burns tries a head kick but it misses.
Borjesson keeps the fight on the outside.
Burns fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Borjesson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Burns circles away quickly and effectively.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burns changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Borjesson tries to avoid it but Burns manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Borjesson to the ground. Borjesson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Burns shoots in looking for a takedown. Borjesson tries to sprawl out of it but Burns keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Borjesson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Borjesson gets tackled into the cage by Burns. Burns maintains the clinch.

Burns tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Burns is looking to control Borjesson's arms but Borjesson gets an underhook and turns him. Now Burns has his back to the cage.
Burns is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Borjesson is keeping busy.

Borjesson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burns working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Borjesson's head.

Borjesson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Burns off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Borjesson has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Burns ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Borjesson moves away.

Borjesson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Borjesson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Burnss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Borjesson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Borjesson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Burns tries a head kick but it misses.
Borjesson lands with a slapping head kick.


It looks like James Burns has been cut.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Borjesson throws a head kick but Burns moves out of range.

Borjesson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Burns defends it well.

Burns misses with a takedown attempt - Borjesson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Burns chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Borjesson can pounce on him.

Burns tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A combination from Borjesson does no damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Burns seems to be working for a kimura but Borjesson defends the submission attempt.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Borjesson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Burns maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Borjesson could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Burns has cracked it and Borjesson is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Burns!
