Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Quill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wallace Treadwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wallace Treadwell has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Peter Quill's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Peter Quill! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wallace Treadwell! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quill misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Treadwell misses with a head kick.
Peter Quill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Treadwell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Quill fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Treadwell is out of range. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Treadwell has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Quill closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Treadwell looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Quill is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Treadwell throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quill wants to lay and pray for a moment but Treadwell keeps working. Treadwell is trying to get back to full guard. Quill is working for a submission of some sort.

Treadwell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Quill is working away from the top position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Treadwell is staying active underneath Quill, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Quill takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Quill seems to be working for a kimura but Treadwell defends the submission attempt. Quill is keen to just control but Treadwell is a slippery customer.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Quill looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Quill checks a leg kick nicely. Quill throws a sloppy body shot
and Treadwell counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Quill throws a low kick but it's checked well by Treadwell.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Quill tried to score with a low kick but Treadwell checks it. Treadwell is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Treadwell rushes Quill and presses him up against the cage. Treadwell lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
It looks like Peter Quill has been cut. Quill's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Quill connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Quill connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Treadwell momentarily.
Quill throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Treadwell sees it coming and avoids it easily. Quill throws a leg kick that is checked and Treadwell counters with a slapping leg kick. Quill bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Quill throws a combination that misses and Treadwell counters with a nice low kick that buckles Quill's knee momentarily. Treadwell wants to slow Quill down by chopping away at his legs. Quill checks a leg kick nicely. Treadwell pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Quill swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Treadwell counters with a leg kick. Quill is breathing heavily. Treadwell is looking to slow Quill down with leg kicks. A head kick misses from Quill. Quill fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Treadwell manages to avoid it. Quill tries to land a body kick and Treadwell counters with a good low kick that Quill was not able to check. Treadwell scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Treadwell throws a low kick but Quill avoids it. Treadwell lands a big head kick that sends Quill tumbling to the mat! Treadwell takes a step backwards and waves Quill back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Quill is rocked! Treadwell feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! Quill collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!
