Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Silas Monk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cletus Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monk's entrance music is Ave Maria. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Silas Monk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cletus Jackson! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monk uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jackson. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Jackson throws a leg kick but Monk moved away. Monk appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Jackson throws a low kick but Monk moves out of range easily. Jackson missing with a left hand there. Monk was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Jackson throws the left hand but Monk avoids the punch easily. Jackson thows a leg kick but Monk checks it and Monk counters with a series of strikes. Jackson will be more careful next time no doubt. Jackson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Monk stuns Jackson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Jackson looks for a takedown but Monk sprawls well. Monk connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. We've been told by Monk's head coaches at aLion's MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Jackson shoots for a takedown but Monk saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Monk is looking to counter punch. Monk scores with a nice right hand.
Jackson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jackson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Silas Monk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cletus Jackson. This has been an exciting period of action! Monk leaves Jackson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Monk fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jackson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Jackson needs to keep his hands up - Monk had a free shot at his head there. Monk smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Monk lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Monk keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jackson. Monk lands a nice looking body shot.
Monk is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Jackson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Monk lands with an overhand left. Monk scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Jackson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Monk is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Jackson throws a low kick, looking for Monk's leg but Monk calmly moves out of range. Monk scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Monk tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jackson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Monk scores with a nice head shot. Jackson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Monk blocks a leg kick. Silas Monk is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jackson throws a jab when Monk was well out of range. Monk scores with a hook to the body. Jackson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson thows a leg kick but Monk checks it and Monk counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Jackson throws a body punch but Monk moves out of range. Monk closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Jackson! Monk dives in looking to finish! Jackson is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Silas Monk! In his post fight interview, Silas Monk started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
