The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cantrell shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cantrell was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Paul manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Cantrell thows a huge punch but Paul dodges it nicely.
Cantrell is nestled in close to Paul, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Paul is looking to control Cantrell's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Paul avoid being mounted?
Paul regains full guard. Nicely done.
Cantrell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Paul is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Paul is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cantrell wants to control but Paul is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Cantrell is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Paul jumps into side control!
Cantrell takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Paul is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cantrell is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Paul is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Cantrell is trying to escape and Paul transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Cantrell is forced to tap! Nice work there by Paul! Very nice indeed!
