The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
BK misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Lanzoni counters with a nice double leg into guard.
BK wants to improve his position but instead Lanzoni has moved into half guard.
Lanzoni looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lanzoni is working for a submission of some sort.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lanzoni is sneakily working for an arm triangle but BK sees it coming and defends easily.

BK manages to get to full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Lanzoni stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. BK swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Lanzoni ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
BK tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Horrible takedown attempt by Lanzoni or perhaps it was just good defense by BK, which made it look bad.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

and BK counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
BK fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lanzoni manages to avoid it.

It looked like BK wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

and Lanzoni connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
BK bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Lanzoni's head.

Lanzoni connects with a body shot.
BK stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and BK wants it to stay on the feet.
Lanzoni with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling BK to score with a decent uppercut.
Benjamin BK is winning the standup battle so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

BK has Lanzoni pressed against the cage, preventing Lanzoni from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

BK throws out a loose jab but Lanzoni uses good head movement to avoid it.

BK smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lanzoni takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Lanzoni walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! BK swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
