The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Contras closes this distance looking for a takedown but Durden circles away.
And Durden tries to counter it with a takedown but Contras pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Contras gets a clinch.

Durden is fighting off a takedown attempt but Contras is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Durden to the mat. Durden regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Contras has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Durden has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Contras can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Durden thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Durden had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Contras defends it easily.

Contras wants to lay and pray for a moment but Durden keeps working.

Durden is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Contras pulls his head out easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Contras is posturing up here but Durden has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Contras tries to roll out but it's too tight and Contras has to tap! Slick submission there by Durden!
