The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neal misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Giraffe throws a right and a left that both miss.
Neal drops down looking for a counter takedown but Giraffe sprawls and moves away.

Neal closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Giraffe to the mat! Giraffe manages to get full guard.
Giraffe should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Giraffe wants to stand but Neal is controlling the position.
Neal connects with a couple of short punches.
Neal working some strikes from top position.
Neal scoring with some ground and pound.
Neal makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Neal stops Giraffe from standing up.
Neal scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Neal loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Neal lands a couple of elbows.
Giraffe wants to stand up but Neal is controlling him.

Giraffe is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Neal with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Giraffe wants to stand and escape but Neal is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neal really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Neal's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Giraffe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Neal circles away quickly and effectively.
Neal tries to counter with a takedown but Giraffe is quick to defend against it.
Giraffe misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Giraffe wants to clinch up but Neal keeps it at a distance.
As Giraffe looks to move away, Neal throws a big counter combo bu Giraffe just gets out of the way.
Giraffe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Neal circles away quickly and effectively.
The fight stays on the outside here - Giraffe looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Giraffe catches Neal with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Giraffe rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Neal moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Big Giraffe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Giraffe throws a hook to the side of Neal's head but Neal sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Sloppy strikes from Giraffe. Those never looked like landing.
Giraffe looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Neal avoids the head kick by Giraffe.

Big Giraffe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Neal fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Giraffe swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Giraffe slaps away a takedown attempt from Neal, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Giraffe connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Neal's hands.

Oh Neal is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Giraffe lands with a big right hook that stumbles Neal - he's out on his feet here! Giraffe follows up with another monster hook that separates Neal from consciousness! Neal falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Giraffe stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
