Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Nevsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Alexander!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nevsky closes the distance and clinches up with Alexander, looking for a takedown. Nevsky pushes Alexander against the cage but Alexander circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Nevsky is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Alexander's half guard.

Alexander is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nevsky pulls his head out easily.
Alexander misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Alexander has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nevsky is working away from the top position though.
Nevsky working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nevsky seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Alexander does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Nevsky looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Alexander with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Nevsky lands a nice short elbow.
Nevsky winds up and cracks Alexander with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Nevsky has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've been hearing good reports from Nevsky's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Nevsky is nestled in close to Alexander, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Nevsky thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Nevsky might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Nevsky sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Alexander's guard.

Nevsky seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Alexander is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

A relieved looking Alexander Nevsky thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
