Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Blake Halder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cristian Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blake Halder is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Blake Halder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cristian Romero!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero shoots for a takedown but Halder saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Blake Halder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Halder tries to bum rush Romero with a series of wild strikes but Romero uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A looping hook to the body misses from Halder. Romero does a little dance to reset his feet.
Halder has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Romero avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Romero will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Halder will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Romero might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Halder haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Romero working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Romero looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Halder with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Romero connects with a nice short shot to Halder's temple.

Cristian Romero showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Romero looks for a takedown but Halder sprawls well.
Romero changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Halder tries to avoid it but Romero manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Halder to the ground. Halder escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Romero is defended easily by Halder.
