Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between JJ Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas's entrance music is Linkin Park - In the End. A fine choice. Brown has chosen TNT by AC DC as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, JJ Thomas! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
26 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tony Brown! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thomas's waist but Thomas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brown off to one side. Brown defending well as Thomas loads up on a big left hand. Jab, jab by Thomas - just one landing. Thomas with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Brown to score with a decent uppercut. Thomas lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
It looks like Tony Brown has been cut. Tony Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brown has his takedown stuffed and Thomas cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Thomas connects with a crisp jab. We've been told by Thomas's head coaches at The Cave Fighting Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Thomas lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Brown is rocked! Brown with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Thomas to score with a decent uppercut. Brown is still on wobbly legs! Can Thomas finish him? Brown has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brown shoots in for a double leg but Thomas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Brown seems to have recovered his senses. JJ Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Brown. Thomas looks to land a combination but Brown avoids it well. Thomas misses the shot to the body. Brown fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Brown connects with a good right hand that stumbles Thomas. Thomas circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown feints and as Thomas raises his hands in defense, Brown changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Brown trying to control the position from guard on top but Thomas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brown is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Thomas working a defensive guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thomas looking for a sweep. Not yet Thomas, not yet. Thomas is looking to cinch up a triangle. Brown throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Thomas's body to avoid the submission. Thomas has instead reached around Brown's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Thomas arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). JJ Thomas! JJ Thomas is the new welterweight champion! During a confident post fight interview, JJ Thomas thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
