Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Glen Bowers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nestori Laine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laine is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Chariots of Fire. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Glen Bowers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nestori Laine!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laine walks forward, straight into a front kick from Bowers.
Laine misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Laine tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bowers swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Laine takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Danga de danga de dang - Bowers scores with a four punch combination!

Bowers tries to sprawl but Laine drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Bowers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bowers tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Laine is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Laine prevents Bowers from standing back up.

Laine throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Laine is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bowers is just riding it out for now. Laine eventually gives up the hold.
Laine is trying to control. Bowers wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Laine is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bowers doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Laine.
Bowers tries to kick Laine off but Laine keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Laine drops an elbow to the side of Bowers's head.
Laine with the ground and pound but Bowers uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Bowers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Laine stands up over Bowers, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Bowers has control of Laine's left arm, preventing Laine from doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Laine swats away the attempt to clinch by Bowers.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Bowers misses with a body kick.

Laine decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Bowers wants to control but Laine is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Laine seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Laine stops Bowers from getting back to his feet.

Laine is looking for a kimura but Bowers is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Laine to get the leverage.
Bowers wants to control but Laine is keeping busy.
Laine drops an elbow to the side of Bowers's head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Laine seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Bowers has recovered full guard.

Laine shoots in and bounces Bowers off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Laine drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bowers looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bowers looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bowers!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Laine tries to improve position but can't.
Laine wants to control but Bowers postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bowers scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Laine to see if he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bowers takes a little break here. Laine wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The strikes coming from Bowers are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Bowers throws a strike aimed at the side of Laine's head but Laine avoids it well.
Laine can't do much from the bottom here.
You can see the frustration on Laine's face as Bowers controls the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bowers postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Laine is not content to let Bowers control the position.

Laine is staying active underneath Bowers, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Laine looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Laine prevents Bowers from improving his position.
Bowers wants to get back to his feet.
Bowers keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Laine is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bowers has managed to free his arm - good work.
Laine is trying to control the action in half guard but Bowers is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Laine throws an elbow that misses. Bowers uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Laine's guard. Nice move by Bowers!

That was a close second round but I would say that Glen Bowers will probably get the nod.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Laine thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Bowers manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Laine is thwarting Bowers's attempts to control the position.
Bowers manages to get to full guard.
Laine lands a couple of digs.

Nestori Laine comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Laine has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
