The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roman has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Petrikov finds it's way round the side to connect with Roman's head.

Petrikov fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Roman has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Petrikov wants to clinch up but Roman keeps it at a distance.

Roman moves out of range as Petrikov strikes.
Roman swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Simon Petrikov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Petrikov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Petrikov throws a leg kick but Roman sees it coming and checks it nicely.

I was talking to Roman's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Roman goes for a takedown attempt but Petrikov pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocco Roman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

I would just about give that final round to Simon Petrikov.
Well Petrikov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
