Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kennith Haney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinji Nakamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Shinji Nakamura!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamura feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Haney doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Nakamura stays in close to Haney's body and controls the position.
Haney striking off his back but it's not causing Nakamura any problems.

Haney really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Haney throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Nakamura trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Haney looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Haney will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Nakamura throws a big right hand that misses.
Haney working for a triangle but Nakamura defends it easily.

Nakamura is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Nakamura changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Haney looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Nakamura tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Nakamura in side control, throwing shots but Haney defends.
You can see the frustration on Haney's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Haney is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Nakamura is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Haney tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nakamura wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Nakamura wants to take a breather but Haney is having none of it.
Nakamura throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Nakamura in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Haney tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Nakamura!
