PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Sullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrone Skillet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skillet has chosen Drop Bombs - Lazee as his entrance music. Tyrone Skillet will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Scott Sullivan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Tyrone Skillet!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skillet doesn't manage to clinch there - Sullivan circles away.
Skillet tries to clinch but Sullivan moves out of range.

Skillet gets a clinch.
Skillet lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Scott Sullivan has been cut.
Sullivan on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Sullivan dodges an elbow strike from Skillet.
Sullivan avoiding damage as Skillet throws knees to the body.

Sullivan ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Sullivan no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Skillet trying to control the position from guard on top but Sullivan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sullivan tries to strike from the bottom.
Sullivan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Skillet makes his way to full guard, as Sullivan worked for a kimura.
Skillet manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sullivan manages to get himself to full guard.
Skillet tries to free his leg and advance position but Sullivan is retaining full guard.
Skillet wants to stand but Sullivan has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Sullivan wants to sweep but no luck.

Sullivan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Skillet doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Skillet manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sullivan pulls Skillet in close to prevent any damage.
Skillet wanted to stand there but Sullivan had control of the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sullivan working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Skillet has passed into half guard!
Skillet wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sullivan keeps working.
Skillet is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sullivan!

Sullivan is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Sullivan sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Sullivan is breathing heavily.
Skillet tries to stand but can't do so whilst Sullivan controls his leg.
Skillet wants to pass the guard but Sullivan is defending well.
Sullivan landing a few short strikes.
Sullivan is refusing to be controlled, as Skillet sits in half guard.
Sullivan tries to get to full guard but Skillet has control of the leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Skillet tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Sullivan.
Sullivan trying to control but Skillet postures up.
Skillet is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sullivan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Skillet circles away.
Skillet wants to clinch up but Sullivan keeps it at a distance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sullivan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Skillet but Skillet pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Skillet moves in looking to clinch but Sullivan pushes him off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tyrone Skillet will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Scott Sullivan's cut.
That's time! Sullivan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Sullivan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sullivan is trying to move to mount but Skillet reverses beautifully and ends up in Sullivan's guard.
Sullivan tries to strike from the bottom.
Skillet throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Sullivan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Skillet!
Skillet tries to reverse the position but Sullivan maintains control.
Sullivan throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sullivan lands a big elbow.
Skillet tries to lock up and control but Sullivan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Sullivan throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Sullivan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Skillet is looking to escape.
Sullivan wants to control but Skillet has made it back to half guard. Nice work.
Skillet moves into full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Skillet had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Sullivan is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Skillet Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Sullivan's back instead.
Skillet is not going to allow Sullivan to sit and survive in this position.
Sullivan tries to escape but Skillet has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Sullivan looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Skillet has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Sullivan is in real trouble here. Skillet gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Sullivan is tapping out! Skillet wins by rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tyrone Skillet!
