Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Coryatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coryatt kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Welcome 2 Houston. Ward has chosen Irigy Hónaljmirigy - Rúgj Chuck Norris (Chuck Norris parody by Hungarians) as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kevin Coryatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tommy Ward!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coryatt is looking to clinch.

Ward looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Coryatt!
Ward working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Ward goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Coryatt has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Ward but great work by Coryatt.
Ward tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Coryatt wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Coryatt trying to control the position but Ward is working away.
Coryatt tries to score with some ground and pound. Ward controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Ward is looking for a sweep.

Coryatt cracks Ward with a big right hand but Ward just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Ward tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Coryatt is trying to ground and pound but Ward uses the momentary lack of control by Coryatt to regain half guard.
Coryatt wants to pass to mount but Ward is defending the position.
Coryatt is controlling the pace.
Ward is pressing down on Coryatt's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Coryatt trying to control but Ward is working from the bottom.
Ward trying to control the position.
Ward has his hands on Coryatt's head, controlling the position.
Ward can't keep his opponent in guard - Coryatt advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Coryatt is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Coryatt trying to control from half guard but Ward is working away.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Ward is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Coryatt tries to close the distance and clinch but Ward swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ward tries to land a front kick but Coryatt steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A big right from Ward misses.
Coryatt tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Ward manages to circle out of the way.
Ward tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Coryatt was well out of range. Poor timing from Ward.
Coryatt lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ward circles away quickly and effectively.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ward moves in looking to clinch but Coryatt pushes him off.
Ward will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Coryatt was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Ward walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Coryatt lands a jab-cross combination.
Nice sprawl there from Coryatt as Ward shoots in.
Coryatt slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Ward throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Coryatt's waist but Coryatt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ward off to one side.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Coryatt throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
A combination from Ward does no damage.

Coryatt drives through with a takedown into Ward's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Coryatt looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Ward keeping moving, preventing Coryatt from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin Coryatt dominated that round.
That's time! Coryatt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Coryatt manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ward on his heels. He'll look to pass Ward's guard now, I'm sure.
Coryatt passes Ward's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Coryatt stalling away here and it's allowed Ward to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Ward preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Ward manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Coryatt manages to get himself to full guard.

Coryatt throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ward trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ward trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Ward wants to pass the guard but Coryatt is keeping the position.
Coryatt manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ward manages to get himself to full guard.

Coryatt controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Ward looking for a sweep. Not yet Ward, not yet.
Ward lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Ward pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Coryatt is keeping the position for now.
Ward advances position into side control!
Ward is working Coryatt over with some ground and pound from side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ward has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Coryatt!
Coryatt is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Ward trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Coryatt takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Coryatt slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Ward working Coryatt over with strikes.
Ward is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Coryatt!
Ward looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Coryatt covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tommy Ward!
Tommy Ward really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that V-Mask Clothing (10%) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
