Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montgomery is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Cruz wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Cruz could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Cruz shoots in and gets a takedown into Montgomery's guard.
Montgomery is looking to stand up but Cruz isn't so interested in that idea.
Cruz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Montgomery on the ground.
Montgomery has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cruz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Montgomery ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cruz moves away.
Montgomery tries for a takedown but Cruz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Montgomery enables Cruz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Montgomery manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Montgomery throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cruz escapes and throws Montgomery's legs to the side, diving into side control!
